Is pet amoxicillin the same as human amoxicillin? ›

The active ingredient in amoxicillin for both humans and pets is the same. However, there are differences in available dosages, concentrations, and formulations. There are many sizes of human amoxicillin products available, and many are not suited for dogs. Your veterinarian will determine which is right for your pet.
