Hourly Wage: $40.48 per student contact hours/$28.00 per non-student contact hours

Schedule: June 17th-August 2 (no programming on Juneteenth or week of July 4)
Purpose: The mission of CDF Freedom Schools programs is to boost student motivations to read, generate more positive attitudes toward learning, increase self-esteem and connect the needs of children and families to the resources of their communities. The activity based Integrated Reading Curriculum (IRC), which is aligned to the Common Core State Standards, integrates reading, conflict resolution, and social action, and is designed to promote social, cultural, and historical awareness.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
Serve as a team lead for the Freedom School Staff, recognize program areas of growth and lead in the action plan for solutions.
Serve as a positive role model for all scholars.
Punctuality- must get to work on time and follow procedures for absences
Supervise and maintain the safety of all scholars.
Maintain a professional decorum
Set up, manage and take down classroom space according to standards outlined by CDF and ISD 622.
Engage a maximum of 10 scholars per class in the Integrated Reading Curriculum.
Attend all required Ella Baker Child Policy Training Institute training sessions. National Training for first and second year SLI’s only are May 28th- June 1st, 2024.
Work with site staff to ensure that all program components are implemented with fidelity, including submitting lesson plans weekly.
Report any issues or concerns regarding program operation to the Site Coordinator.
Collaborate with other licensed staff members to plan, create and implement afternoon activities for scholars
Required Qualifications
License in teaching or related field.
Ability to motivate others and work as part of an intergenerational team.
Solid commitment to the success and well-being of children.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exhibit a positive behavior and attitude, modeling mature and professional demeanor.
