Congratulations and happy anniversary, Dave & Mel!

Here's one that's wholly appropriate. Originally a love poem written by Johnny Cash in 1970 to his wife, June and eventually set to music in 2018 (or thereabouts) by Ruston Kelly and Kacey Musgraves who were also a married couple at the time.

I didn't have a lot of time when I got back from work and couldn't find anyone to both marry me and then sing the song with me so you'll just have to make do with me on my lonesome...

All the best! X

Today is my sweetie's b-day, so I learned this soft little song, and yesterday recorded it during a thunderstorm so she can hear thunder in the background whenever she listens to it (she loves thunderstorms!). It's obviously thunder right at the start, but after that anything that sounds like someone is moving furniture around above me is thunder. Conveniently, this song seems to meet this Season's theme.

"Golden Star" is by Middle Kids, an Australian band from Sydney. This song was on the soundtrack of one of the last episodes of Ted Lasso so maybe it will sound familiar?

hey Dave and Mel
hugest hugs and love to you both for these 24 years of marriage
me and joo just recorded this song. i wrote it about 15 years ago for a couple i used to care for
in a nursing home and who were both suffering from dementia.
joo and i actually sang it to each other at our own wedding.
they were a gorgeous couple whose love shone bright right until the end.
we love you both. xo
lyrics and chords in the description.

Gang, we had a fun night out and I am gassed. I promise I will catch up tomorrow. For now I am off to bed. Thanks for all the additional songs I will be after tomorrow morning.
Gotta say I love all y’all posting your anniversaries. I won’t remember them unless reminded, but congratulations. Finding that person in life is a great feeling, I know I feel like I won the Lottery.

Is it not surprising that people can have compassion and affection for each other. That so many songs and poems are written to try and capture the essence of this emotion and why it exists... and we all aspire to have a relationship the nurtures love as being the best for us.

Where do these ideas come from.

Both hosts and I were disappointed that I did not get yesterday's song done while I still had daylight and birds to sing along. I did better today.

Here's a classic love song, with, yes, Aussie bird accompaniment and sunny background.

We celebrated our golden anniversary a few years ago. Delving into a box of goodies sent to us by our children.

Hello again, Dave (and Mel!) A cheerful little ditty from 1963, which was performed by "Freddie and the Dreamers." I'm not sure whether they ever crossed "The Pond" during the "British Invasion," but Freddie Garrity looked like a rather demented Buddy Holly ... he jumped up and down a lot and was generally a bit eccentric. I am not doing any jumping here - although I might be a bit eccentric - and I am rather "dappled" having recorded out in the garden as it was too nice to stay indoors. Voici ...

I used to love The SillyDave's contributions! And, ye gods, I'm back again ... I can only apologise! Actually, I need to stay close to the house because I'm waiting for a phone call on the landline (mobiles don't work up here), so the idea was to test out the adapter which came in the post today so that I could connect my Blue Yeti mic to my phone. Unfortunately, it's just too big for the port on the phone. CAN ANYONE HELP ... below is a photo of the one I bought? IS there a smaller one and, if so, what do I need to order? Anyway, I bring you more LOVE all the way from 1952 ...

Great song! I did this as a mashup a while back! T think you will need a USB micro-B adaptor for your phone, unless it's an Apple phone, which will be a proprietary Lightning connector or most recently USB-C which I think we've already established isn't the case, as they both go in whichever way you insert them, unlike micro-B USB!

Thanks so much, Rob ... my phone is a Samsung Galaxy J6+. I'll see if I can find one. Can you tell me how it would be described?
