LITTLE ROCK - Jimmie Lee Woods, 84, of Little Rock, AR formally of McNeil, AR died January 04, 2018 at Little Rock, AR.

Born March 04, 1933 to Wiley C. and Bell Dora Jackson Warren. Preceded in death by: parents, husband: Curtis Woods and one son: Harold Woods

Survived by: Seven daughters: Linda K. Phillips, Sharon D. Woods and Teresa A. Woods of Memphis, TN; Nora J. Smith of Pine Bluff, AR; Dora J. Woods and Nona R. Woods of Little Rock, AR; Valeria Barber of Wichita, KS; One sister: Chelsea Sandifer; Eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; seven sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Service is Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in McNeil, AR by Rev. James C. Scott.

Interment: St. Matthew Cemetery in McNeil, AR

Lou Taylor

Louise Daugherty Taylor, age 89, of Pine Bluff passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018.

Born August 6, 1928 at Stamps, AR, she was a daughter of the late Amos Paul Daugherty and Idella Summers Daugherty.

A resident of Pine Bluff for over 50 years, Mrs. Taylor worked as a checker at Kroger for 27 years.

She was a member of First Assembly of God Church.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 51 years, Harvey Derwood Taylor on November 1, 2017.

Survivors include her niece and caregiver, Robin Anders; her godson, Justin Cook; along with numerous other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 13, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Gary Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Robinson’s.

Fort Worth, Texas - Mary Lou Taylor, 83, of Fort Worth, Texas, formerly of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning on January 10, 2018.

Survivors include her two daughters, Bobbie Davies (Cliff) of Fort Worth, Texas and Mary Mercer (Mike) of Midlothian, Texas; her sisters, Joann Bussey and Betty Hughes-Floyd of Pine Bluff, Patsy Baber of Mesquite, Texas, and Joyce Gotcher of Lufkin, Texas. Mary Lou also leaves behind her two beloved granddaughters, Jessica Rystad (and her father, Ken, also beloved by Mary Lou) of Torrance, California and Jamie Mercer of Midlothian, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 14, 2018 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Dr. Ken Shaddox officiating. Interment will follow in Fitzhugh Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Robinson’s.

Clyde Taylor

SHERIDAN - Clyne Edward Taylor, age 80, of Sheridan passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. He was born April 10, 1937 in Fort Towson, Oklahoma to the late Lawrence Edward Taylor and Mary Bessie Turner Taylor. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his step-son, Allen Graves; and sister, Clara.

Left to cherish his memory, wife, Fairy Lee Taylor of Sheridan; son, Clyne Edward Taylor, Jr. of Bouse, Arizona; daughters, Melanie (Craig) Archer of Grover Beach, California and Mary (James) of Sheridan; step-daughter, Shirley (Ron) Ferguson of Baker, Oregon; daughter-in-law, Lynn Graves of California; sister, Patricia Wilson of Riverdale, California; ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan with Brother Farrell West officiating. Interment will follow at Center Grove Cemetery in Sheridan. Eddie Thomas

Deacon Eddie Thomas, Jr., 87, of White Hall, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018. He was born on November 9, 1930, in Oak Ridge, Louisiana.

Mr. Thomas was employed with International Paper Company at the Bastrop, Louisiana and Pine Bluff, Arkansas locations for 29 years. He retired in 1987.

Mr. Thomas served his country dutifully during the Korean War and was recognized for his exemplary service at the 50th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration in 2003.

Mr. Thomas was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church for nearly 50 years and faithfully served as a deacon and in other ministries. He enjoyed every moment of his life to the fullest.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife of 38 years, Marva Patton Thomas; six daughters: Evelyn Allen, Faye Jones, Brenda Thomas, Bobbie Garret, Felisha Gaines, and Yolanda Carman; and three sons: Dennis Thomas, Joe Andrews, and Fred Andrews. He was a caring and generous husband, father, grandfather, stepfather, step grandfather, and great grandfather, who loved spending time with his wife, the families, neighbors, friends, and church members.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 12, 2018, at Christian Way Funeral Home, 3705 West 6th Street, Pine Bluff, AR. A celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018, at First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road, Pine Bluff, AR with Reverend Charles S. Boyd, Sr. officiating. Interment will be at Pine Bluff City Cemetery (Military Section).
